foocar going through midlife crisis
foocar, or so my car was christened by aizatto many moons ago, is showing classic signs of going through midlife crisis. The engine went all over the place on Friday night and it seems that it will cost me a pretty penny to get it fixored. So there goes the savings I was planning to put into colocating a 1U server and having a usable Fedora mirror in Malaysia.
Crud.
However, I did get http://ditesh.gathani.org an actual index.html. SETI afficiniados would appreciate the joke on that page. Further content to go up there as time permits, some of which may actually be useful to FOSS advocators in Malaysia.
I’m particularly happy that I got a partial book list up. It’s one-twentieth of the size it should be so do give it time for the list to expand as I keep adding to it. I’ve been wanting to do this for many years now, but Madam Procrastinor kept me intentionally lazy.
I read fast, voraciously and at this point, have read probably more then anybody else I know (perhaps with one exception - Nicky, if you are reading this, do email me!). The problem I’m having now is not having sufficiently interesting material to read; many books (even those on my list) are nice, interesting or insightful but certainly not great and earth shattering. I keep looking out for great and earth shattering books because much of my personal development has been spurred by such books. I put that page up with the hope that somebody would email me and share some other books that I may enjoy, and perhaps accidently or intentionally find great and earth shattering.
Its already a Sunday and I have to get back to some honest gritty work. Times a-flying, and before I know it, it will be the end of 2007!
