Your friendly neighbourhood Microsoft lobbyist

I finished the second draft of my ODF paper. I had to substantially rework certain parts so as to not offend certain large convicted monopolists and extensively reference existing ODF deployments, lest the FUDlobbying engine goes to work against the paper. Which, if you think about it, this is a subtle form of intimidation. Why am I feeling scared of reporting the truth? On a sidenote, I think this is the first paper I’ve written in which the number of pages for the references is a quarter of the size of the paper itself. No thanks to your friendly neighbourhood Microsoft lobbyist!

Updated WordPress (again!) and repeated my resolution to take down this blog as soon as I have time and set up nanoblogger in its stead. Enough with security holes already, I’d like to see somebody punch a security hole in a plain old HTML file.

I’ve finished reading The Long Tail. The other open books I’m parallel reading now are:

  • The Audacity of Hope, Barack Obama - pretty interesting thus far, gives an insight into the US Senate.
  • The End of Poverty, Jeffrey Sachs - no comments thus far has I’ve not read much into it yet.
  • The Black Dahlia, James Ellroy - fiction, slow and meandering at the start, waiting for it to pick up.
  • A couple of other books, which I’ll note down tomorrow.

So much to grok, so little time.

Getting buggity Say … Oooo … Ooooooo …. Obama!
